Dr Masatoshi Tanaka graduated Kurume university school of medicine in 1979, & received his PhD degree in Medical Science in 1989.

His profession is a diagnosis & treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He started his carrier of percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) from 1985, intra-arterial embolo-therapy & chemotherapy from 1989, & radiofrequency ablation from 1998.

He was a director at the Dept. of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Kurume University Medical Center, & is now a director of Hepatology & Clinical Research Center, Yokokura hospital since 2012.

He is a board member of Liver Cancer Study Group of Japan, Japanese Society of Gastraenterology, Hepatology & Ultrasonics in medicine, & also a director board member of Asian Conference on Tumor Ablation, & organized 2nd ACTA meeting in 2015.
